Greetings from The Retro Hippie, I’d like to take a minute and introduce myself to you and my store. My name is KimmeC and I am the owner, designer, and stylist of The Retro Hippie. I started this venture as a way to generate money during my “stay at home Mom days.” It has become an ongoing passion and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
The uniqueness of The Retro Hippie is threefold, one in that vintage pieces are unique in and of themselves; two, at The Retro Hippie we push the fact that woman are beautiful no matter what shape, size, age, or ethnicity; and thirdly, I take one design and market in a few different ways so that my clientele actually get a stylist all their own.
Woman come is so many different packages yet society has us all cookie cut out of the same mold. Barbie is sold by Mattel, she’s unrealistic and so are the models that walk the cat walk. Why put these visions into our heads when the reality of it is, we are not all 17, and weighing 100lbs. No offence and no negative tone, my point is simply that clothing does not look the same on a model as they do on me, or you. At The Retro Hippie, we use all kinds of woman as our models and our inspiration. We are all beautiful and we need to learn to embrace that.
At The Retro Hippie you actually get your own personal stylist. I try to market my designs in multiple styling choices. Therefore, if you feel you are not fashion knowledgeable and you need a helping hand, I design my looks to help you make the right choices for you. If you do know your look and you are loud and proud, each choice should show you how you can adapt a piece to make it work for you.
