Call it Kombucha, fermented tea, mushroom tea, tea of immortality, booch, or just plain gross...but this beverage is a dose of health in a bottle. Although it's exact origins remain a mystery, it's been used medicinally for thousands of years. If your New Year’s goal was to create healthy habits I suggest you research a daily dose of kombucha. I consume one 12 oz glass per day, I make my own, and I create therapeutic dosing in my customized kombucha. Kombucha has a kick, there is no doubt about that. But the acetic acid in kombucha is a combatant to many harmful microorganisms, bad bacteria, and yeast. These antimicrobial effects also suppress the growth of bad bacteria and yeast. This badass antimicrobial makes kombucha a good preventative for any microorganism invasion your body may be susceptible to.

I've been therapeutically dosing with kombucha for over a year and simply love what it's done for me. I’m easily triggered by certain foods and I have found that one kombucha a day keeps the irritable bowel syndrome away. The healing benefits of kombucha are plentiful and I use my daily dose of 12oz. per day as a 'therapy' by making my own kombucha and adding supplementation as my body needs it. Basically, instead of store-bought kombucha, I make my own, all organic, and I can add whatever I feel my body needs at the time. For example, in this high stress and scary time with social distancing and the threat of the COVID-19 virus, this month I am adding 1000 mg of Reishi Mushroom Powder to each 12 oz glass of kombucha.
